Congratulations to Kylie Clark, Morgen Mooney, Drew English, Julia Harig and Samantha Miller,  our March Seniors of the Month

 

Important Testing Information

The building will be participating in important State testing starting on Tuesday, April 9, students will have an early release at 1:00.  Participation during this testing is a graduation requirement so we ask that you encourage your son/daughter to do their best and please do not schedule any appointments during testing time.  

Note the changes to student schedules due to testing.

Tuesday, April 9

  • Early release at 1:00 for all students (PSAT and SAT testing for underclassmen)
  • AM/PM Tech Center for Seniors only
  • AP Seniors 9:00-11:00, meet at the JCA

Wednesday, April 10

  • Normal school hours (testing in the morning)
  • Seniors full day, volunteer experience 8:00-11:00, details were provided in senior letter
  • AM Tech for Seniors only
  • No PM Tech for Seniors or Juniors (hours 1,2,3 at JHS in the afternoon)

Thursday, April 11

  • Normal school hours (testing in the morning)
  • Seniors arrive at 11:04 am
  • AM Tech for Seniors only
  • PM Tech Center for all students (hours 4,5,6 at JHS in the afternoon)

 


 

Food resources are available in Ottawa County, and it’s now easier than ever to find those resources online. Residents can search for food pantries and community meals, either by date or location, at ottawafood.org/findfood.

 


REMINDERS from the ATTENDANCE Office

Calling IN a Student

  • If your student is ill, or coming in late,
    • BEFORE 8am, call 457.3400, press 1 for attendance
    • If Mrs. Schaaf doesn’t answer please leave a message with
      • Student’s name – with the spelling of the last name
      • Grade
      • Reason for your student’s absence
      • Your relation to the student
    • If your student arrives at school late, they will need to sign in at the main office.
    • If your student has an appointment during the school day, please remember to provide the school with a medical excuse to medically clear the absence.  

Calling OUT a Student

  • If your student needs to leave school during the day,
    • AT LEAST 2 HOURS PRIOR to the time you need your student released, call 457.3400, press 1 for attendance.
    • If Mrs. Schaaf doesn’t answer, please leave a message with
      • Student’s name – with the the spelling of the last name
      • Grade
      • Time your student needs to be released
      • The reason the student is leaving & whether or not they’re returning to school that day
    • Before leaving school, your student will need to sign out in the main office.

Pre-Arranged Absences 3 or More Days

  • Blue pre-arranged permission forms can be picked up from Mrs. Schaaf in the main office.
  • These forms are for planned absences of 3 or more days due to surgery, vacation, out of town travel, etc.  
  • Completed forms need to be returned to the main office 5 school days PRIOR to pre-arranged absence start date.  

The high school building closes every day at 4:00 p.m.  If your student does not have a specific “after school” activity, please be sure they catch the bus or that they are picked up no later than 4:00 p.m.   After 4:00 p.m., students will no longer have access to the office area or academic wings, they may be picked up at the atrium of the cafeteria.
